It is the OTHER!

The problem that the UNCONSCIOUS is the OTHER is decisive here. Lacan says that the SELF is that part of the being over which each one has control, that is, the CONSCIOUSNESS. Therefore, the part over which one has no control, the UNCONSCIOUS, becomes alien, begins to merge with the surrounding universe. It is the OTHER. However, part of the OTHER, of the alien, is really yours, because a part of you is alien to you, because it is beyond your control. And in turn, your entire vision of the universe is filtered by the unconscious. And so part of you is alien, and the entire universe is your projection. So, according to Lacan, one is never alone, because within oneself there is always a dialogue (the internal dialogue), which is a tension, a "war of position" with the OTHER, a complex and multiple internalized conflict, prolonged in time, treated as an internalized (social? political?) space that is broad and heterogeneous like the external world, a phantasmagoria --- and that certainly includes more than one simultaneous front, with advances and setbacks that are always partial, unsatisfactory, in a permanent situation of reciprocal harassment. A tension (trench struggle) between the SELF and the OTHER, which is, we would say, the UNIVERSE.
