MEETINGS (1/3)

When Roberta and Johnny arrived in Salvador that summer, Celsão and Solange were not the only friends they had to visit. In fact, they were the last to be contacted --- as soon as they arrived in the city, Roberta hurried to schedule a meeting with Professor Elvira, from UFBA, with whom she had become close friends in New York, during the course of the controversial professor Carl Benamag. Janaína was excited when she learned from Elvira herself that Benamag had come to Salvador six months ago, just to meet her, and that for almost three weeks he had caused horrors in bars, restaurants, hotels and at UFBA itself (already rivaling Foucault in terms of sensation, who lectured at the university in the 1970s, during the dictatorship). Benamag helped Elvira finish her book: “Heidegger, translating Thule’s Guenonism into acceptable academic language.” Roberta, who taught German literature at the Faculty of Letters at UFRJ, confessed to Elvira that she was intrigued over the phone, and she quickly agreed to have dinner with her in the middle of the week.

ROBERTA

(at that moment, already sitting across from Elvira, at the sushi bar, sensing the discovery of her friend's true face --- a source of intellectual, mystical self-exile, a tragic escape from reality. Could it really be?, Roberta thought)

So Benamag really came here. Tell me!

ELVIRA

(it's a damn thing to have to bring back those images from her memory to her friend --- that fornication without consequences, the darkness of a drunken tourist trip that ended in bad sex)

He came. And he said he wants to come back.

ROBERTA

Really? When?

ELVIRA

He wants to come see the carnival, now that everything is back to normal.

  1. ROBERTA

Carnival? Me, huh! And how was the meeting with him here?

    ELVIRA

(struggling with all the forms of the fake)

It was fun. He had other contacts in the city, besides me.

    ROBERTA

    Did you go out together?

    ELVIRA

    (tense character, Elvira)

Of course, right. And we also went to the beach.

    ROBERTA

    Just the two of you?

    ELVIRA

(letting her body follow her friend's questions. Any subliminal noise serving as an answer)

No, there was always someone else. Strange girls, young people.

    ROBERTA

(almost without anyone to talk to, waiting for her friend to speak without needing to be asked)

    Students? Prostitutes? (laughs)

    ELVIRA

    (laughing)

    No. Acquaintances.

  2. ROBERTA

(looking for a reasonable way to talk)

    And the book?

    ELVIRA

(as a result of loneliness, Hamlet also pretended to be crazy, and he was)

So, it ended up being quite Borgesian.

    ROBERTA

    Borgesian?

    ELVIRA

My idea that Heidegger was crazy was greatly enriched by Benamag's bibliographical suggestions.

    ROBERTA

    Crazy? Really crazy?

    ELVIRA

    Yes.

    ROBERTA

Do you think that if Heidegger had finished Fundamental Ontology, Being and Time would be a very crazy book? Because honestly it doesn't seem like madness, but rather the extreme opposite. A philosophical monument of unshakable sobriety.

    ELVIRA

(a space of insoluble intellectual tension, in which to cultivate remnants of consciousness without any a priori; powerless to transform it)

  3. I think Heidegger was looking for the source of the Adamic language spoken by the pre-Socratics, and ended up finding something quite different: a world of alien political action, whose language was the emanation of some kind of maddening cosmic electricity. Benamag suggested that I study the theories of Hans Horbiger, to understand to what extent Nazi Guenonism was the neighbor of a spiritual world of science fiction. The same with Heidegger: the dryness of the atheist characterizations of the Analytic was also neighbor of Thule.

(Elvira hands the book to Roberta)

    ROBERTA

    My God!

    ELVIRA

(laughs at her friend with the book in her hand)

In the preface, I cite the homage that Foucault pays to Heidegger (an irony) and propose an archaeology of Thule (which still exists in the United States and South America) to explain the exegesis that the German philosopher makes of Holderlin's poetry. What inspired me to write this book, in fact, was a suggestion from Professor Emanuel Faye, who in his book ‘’Heidegger, the introduction of Nazism into philosophy’’ invites scholars to ‘’proceed with an in-depth confrontation between canonical texts of Nazi doctrines and Heidegger’s philosophical production before and during the Nazi period

  4. ROBERTA

    Thule's indoctrinators?

    ELVIRA

Also. Giants hidden underground. Gods and demigods. Etc.

    ROBERTA

Holderlin? Plato also talks about a gigantomachy, in the Republic, doesn't he?

    ELVIRA

Yes: just a mask to make the divinatory hallucination of the Thule Society "essentially German".

    ROBERTA

Isn't the Thule Society the one with the flying saucers and aliens?

    ELVIRA

    That's right. Ha ha ha!

    ROBERTA

And did the Nazis really believe in that?

  5. ELVIRA

Hitler was trained by Dietrich Eckart, a member of the Thule inner circle, who in 1919 created the German Workers' Party. After his training, Thule induced Hitler to become leader of the Party and renamed it the National Socialist, or Nazi, Party. Hitler dedicated Mein Kampf to Eckart.

    ROBERTA

Did he train? How did he train?

    ELVIRA

As far as I could tell, with tantric and meditative methods, to produce Vril energy in himself.

    ROBERTA

    Energy what?

    ELVIRA

Vril. In a way, the same thing that Heraclitus of Ephesus calls Fire --- a Fire that, according to Hindu doctrines, becomes Speech and Eloquence, when Agni and Indra are conquered.

  6. (Elvira shows Roberta the book on page 27, and reads:

‘’In his text on Fragment 50, by Heraclitus, Heidegger writes:

‘’And yet the presence of the gods remains different from that of men. They are as daimones, theáontes, those who look into our condition, into the clarification of that which presents itself, which mortals approach in their own way, while they let it be-there in their (her) presence and keep it under their care (...) by virtue of their very being, they who are transplanted into the realm of that which conceals and protects them’’

    (Elvira’s text continues):

‘’Between 1933-1936, Heraclitus’ aphorism 53 on war (father/mother of all things) is the basis of Heidegger’s speeches announcing the coming of the Great War --- an apology that appears in his correspondence with Carl Schmitt, the great Nazi legal theorist.

This war (the polemos of Heraclitus) we (unser geschlecht, the Aryan race) must win SPIRITUALLY. And already in the middle of the war, in 1940, Heidegger is exalting war ‘metaphysically’.

  8. And here below you also write:

‘’As of April 1934, already removed from the rectorship of Freiburg for ‘radicalism’ --- at the request of State Secretary Wilhelm Stuckart, a high dignitary of the Nazi Party, close to Hitler and Himmler and first president of the German Association for Racial Hygiene, Heidegger agrees to participate in the establishment of a new Reich teachers’ school: the directorship is offered to him’’.

    ELVIRA

They needed to build a bridge with the German university --- that’s what I argue in the book. Simmel himself was already studying and theorizing about secret societies like Thule at the time. The secret needed to spread imperceptibly, at first, because it was still above all a political secretion; it needed to insinuate itself, invade and begin to shape public forms; make subjects act and create a consensual directive pressure in the German community.

    ROBERTA

(the devil is the key to madness; he doesn't exist, so why is he so strong?, Roberta thinks)

    So Heidegger was from Thule?

THE WORLD OF ICE and THE HOLLOW EARTH’’

(still leafing through the book a little):

    ‘’CHAPTER 7

Seriously, I’m shocked! You have the courage to talk about this in public?

    ELVIRA

(past and present: such tension. What leisure for solitary meditation!)

Hahaha! No --- I finished my post-doctorate a long time ago. This little book is just an appendix to my academic work. I think my next book will be of poems. I’m close to retiring.

    ROBERTA

    The Almighty Logos-Poem, at last!

    ELVIRA

Right. A woman can be secret by exposing herself completely. An old Illuminati proverb says: “If you want to hide a truth from the world, the first thing you should do is put it in plain sight.”

As he grew older, Heidegger also became a bit of this --- his becoming-last-god is totally poetic and esoteric (he achieved the magical feat of convincing his followers of his own innocence without changing practically anything the programmatic direction of his work: it has been changing, through him and his disciples, among them Foucault, Derrida, Agamben and even Negri, who in his book on Constituent Power divided all post-World War II revolutionary proposals into strong and weak Heideggerianism). It is the effectiveness of the secret that goes back into the box --- a poetic Heidegger. A Heidegger who goes back to the becoming-underground-ancestral-powers and a Heidegger-Horbiger through poetry (his correspondence with René Char dates back to -------------Char who had fought in the French Resistance against the Nazis and now revered the thinker from Freiburg). The emphasis on unveiling and the self-conscious return to the Guenonism of the period with redoubled force mark the new phase of the philosopher's attacks against Western technology, the world of empty talk of the mediatized being, the forgetfulness of being, the kingdom of quantity and the calculating thought of industrial society, the signs of time are the forgetfulness of being and the empty fleetingness of a liberal etc. completely devastated by alienation and consumerism...

  11. ...Again, traces of Nordic and Nazi pseudo-science that violently opposed liberal-Jewish science, which had generated the anti-Semitic hatred that had to be gradually reproduced at all levels of German society through the politics of secrecy. “That” was what was supposed to “transpire from the alien box” of Thule, like a reptilian cub destined to be king, which gradually sanctions its own disclosure; the actual existence of that “alien special tantric section” of hierarchs. In the later Heidegger, the last god also possesses the “fundamental trait of concealment” and of “making signs and sending signals from a distance.” During his term as rector, Heidegger's name had already spread throughout the world and Germany by word of mouth, esoterically unleashed, a new strip of galaxy decomposing ancient Greek words to examine them etymologically, breaking the Cartesian stagnation of the universities, that indolent and complacent hothouse flower, run by career civil servants, hedonists, full of history and Jewish past, flirting with the ruin of scientific thought. In Nazi Germany, magical-esoteric thought appropriated Western technique and granted Guenonian mythical hallucination an absurd authority and power of direction...

  12. ...which admitted progress only to wage war on a civilization they considered outdated and hostile to Germanness. Hence the famous phrase by L. Pawels, paraphrasing Lenin: “If communism is socialism plus electricity, Hitlerism is Guenonism plus Panzer divisions.” The mystical movement of Nazism was par excellence Thule, and it required the complicity of the entire surrounding society with its principles --- its hierarchs aimed to influence public men and politicians in the surrounding area, until they achieved total power. Hitler received from Thule the heavy task of increasingly becoming the form of the original secret, the ontological-avataric secret, the Heideggerian-repitilian pseudo-hypostasis of what Thule wanted in practice: the destruction of liberal and communist nations and the total enslavement of their peoples. Then, when Himmler invades Poland, all the veils are torn away: the reptilian baby jumps out of Pandora's box, and from its first autonomous steps a terrible stench of military gasoline is exhaled, invading the nostrils of the entire world.

    ROBERTA

It was no small thing then, throbbing behind Nietzsche's Nazi apologia and Wagnerian mythology. Is that what you mean?

    ResponderExcluir
  13. ELVIRA

Yes --- and attribute to Heidegger a whole premeditated and skillful work of translation and camouflage, which will weigh for a time the suspicion (perfectly justified) of his total guilt in action; this, however, will soon be diluted by his distancing and self-exile in Freiburg; and his mystical-poetic muteness, his miraculous listening to the silence, to the original dew, to the Orphic song (Delphi and Tübingen).

    ROBERTA

Under the usual frock coat of the professorship, Et Thule, the standard reptilian illuminati. I say: Nazi.

    ELVIRA

Right: the gas chambers and the Fire of Heraclitus.

    ROBERTA

Quite a spiritual panorama, you painted here. And Benamag, what did he think?

  14. ELVIRA

He said he had always wanted to write something like that, but he lacked the courage. He thought it was excellent, but he asked me not to mention him at all, for professional reasons. He was a student of Heidegger in Freiburg, remember?

    ROBERTA

That's true. How old is he really?

    ELVIRA

I don't know. I've never asked. Over seventy, certainly.

    ROBERTA

Well, it doesn't seem like it --- I wonder if he's also from Thule?

  15. ELVIRA

No. Although one day we talked about vampirism with one of his friends, at a beach house in Guarajuba. A certain Sabrina seemed to be talking to other people about the technical formula that activated the vital alchemical principle in the human body, the cultivation of which was a form of empirical vampirism, if one did not reach a solar initiatory degree: TANTRISM, MEDITATION, SEXUAL ORGIES AND CHILD SACRIFICE (occultism, parapsychology and medieval and Taoist alchemy against the vegetarian passivity of Hindus and Buddhists). Techniques identical to those of other secret societies, or more or less secret, of which the British, French and other elites were part. Just remember (she said) the old Golden Dawn, of which Bram Stoker himself, the creator of Dracula, was a member, along with other notable artistic and scientific minds of the time.

  16. ROBERTA

Interesting. I remember that in Foucault's Microphysics of Power, it is said that "the old-line European nobility was already hostile to the absolutism of Louis XIV, who favored the commoners; and that in Boulainvilliers (representative and historian of the nobility) there is already a "history of the superiority of Germanic blood, from which the nobility of France descended, superior to Gallic blood".

    ELVIRA

Exactly. And Foucault observes that the idea that the aristocracy comes from Germany dates back to the Renaissance --- blood as a mythical object: that noble blood had physical properties of courage, virtue and energy.

    ROBERTA

And that in 19th century vampire novels the vampire is always the aristocrat (the Count, bathing in the blood of innocent children), and the savior, the bourgeois.

After ‘’Insomnia and Neurasthenia in the Occultism of Fernando Pessoa, the Inspired Salazarist’’ by Solange (she was always crazy), now Elvira’s reptilian Heidegger. 18. ’The Thule Society was originally the Studiengruppe fur Germanisches Altertum (study group for Germanic antiquity) founded in 1918 by Rudolf von Sebottendorf in Munich --- and it was inspired by it that, in 1935, Hitler created the bizarre Ahnenerbe (department for the study of ancestral heritage) and Himmler conceived investigative and archaeological operations in Europe and the East --- Hyperborea, the Holy Grail and the Spear of Longinus were being ‘’officially’’ sought after by the Reich.

‘’A year earlier, however, in 1934, it was Heidegger who demonstrated in his courses and conferences that he believed himself to be the privileged bearer of the ‘’spiritual Fuhrung’’ and the destiny of the German people, appropriating the notions of Nazism theorized by Hitler, Junger and Rosenberg to forge the term SORGE (the care of the nobility and resolution of the essence of the people), which in turn, involve a GEHEIMINIS (secret) that remains VERBORGEN (hidden).

    ResponderExcluir
  19. ’In the course on Plato’s Cave, Heidegger takes up the theme of Secret Germany --- coming from the circle of the poet Stefan George --- openly. There is no doubt here that the veneration for the SECRET GERMANY of Rosenberg, Horbiger, and of Thule itself, has to undergo a stratification under the guise of a cult of the poet Holderlin, in order to hide its science fiction roots --- for the secret cult and veneration of the German people for their secret essence is the Hyperborean Guenonism of Thule, the WORLD OF ICE, THE HOLLOW EARTH, THE SECRET SPIRITUAL CENTER: the hidden background of Nazism itself.

‘’Heidegger then begins to ‘dream’ (in the magical-delirious perennialism of the Hitlerite State) of the creation of a ‘new higher school of the spirit’, according to his own expression in a project sent to Wilhelm Stuckart in August 1934. Here, definitively, the ontological-repitilian invades the political, since the education of the people is ‘by the State’.

  20. "In his course on Holderlin, Heidegger completely magnetizes this 'hidden and latent thing' that was the Nazi spiritual quagmire, warning against all Asian spiritual ascendancy, and practically RECREATES the poet Holderlin, to serve as a poetic counterpoint to his political-philosophical exegesis. But there is also no doubt that the myth that really explains and proposes the Final Solution, from the beginning, is the same myth from which the Thule, the Ahnenerbe and the Tibetan Greens draw their intellectual energy, their tantric impetuosity and their unhealthy self-confidence: it is the Tibetan legend of the migration of the ancient initiates from the Gobi desert to Nordic Hyperborea, in the remote past of another civilization, where the original Aryan stock was formed.

  21. ‘’Schamballah and Agarthi will be invoked in interrogations of members of the Ahnenerbe during the Nuremberg juries --- the immediate need defended by the Nazi esotericists was to return to the origins and the spatial conquest of the ancient legendary territories, especially Tibet. With malice and skill, the mythologization of Hitler is thus assumed by Heidegger, through Holderlin, who in his poems points to the race of the ‘demigods’.

‘’Heidegger’s cryptic exegesis on a cross, at this time, leaves no doubt that the swastika, or the gamma cross, has an axis around which Holderlin’s poem on The Rhine revolves --- it is the thought of the Nazi superman that is at stake in the poem, according to Heidegger: the Volklisch origin of the German people in a context of secrecy that invites esoteric reading. Heidegger makes himself the esoteric interpreter of the hidden meaning of the swastika, speaking, according to him, from the privileged instance of A-lethéia (the unveiling), and in 1942 racial selection is declared by him to be ‘metaphysically necessary’.

    ResponderExcluir
  22. ’Heidegger’s skill in all these hermeneutical diatribes consists in giving a metaphorical aspect to this doctrine of the Nordic Hyperborean volklisch mythology, through Holderlin: it is therefore not surprising that, at the end of his course on the German poet, Heidegger is vehemently insisting on INNIGKEIT, the ‘’intimacy of the secret’’. Here is the synthesis of the ‘’spiritual-volklisch-mission’’ of the reptilian Heidegger --- his ‘’political-spiritual’’ interrogation. Fed by exactly the same source, the Vril energy, the Thule and the Ahnenerbe would quickly cease to be a simple little machine for mixing dream and reality (a multiform cult of rites and beliefs without much coherence between them) and, under the veiled leadership of Karl Haushoffer, until 1944, would become the abominable center of psychic and intellectual energies behind the projects of extermination of the Jews and world domination.

    ResponderExcluir
  23. ‘’A resolution and a struggle,’’ Heidegger wrote in his Heraclitus, ‘‘against the Cartesian spiritual decadence, this loss of thought in the face of the fundamental question’’ --- incapable of thinking of man outside his individual bourgeois consciousness and deciding on the ‘fundamental possibilities of the original Germanic essence and source’’, to which Anglo-Saxon culture and Jewish thought were the obstacle that, at that moment, had to be exterminated.

‘’The attempted coup against Hitler in 1944 was directly linked to the ban that the Fuhrer decreed against secret societies years before, and to the internal struggles for power and influence. Among those executed in the plot was Haushoffer’s son (one of the few remaining Thulists and the hidden mastermind behind the then clandestine network). Upon learning of his son’s execution, Haushoffer killed his wife and committed suicide in the style of the Japanese ritual harakiri, a tradition into which he had been initiated when he was still young’’.
