ME
My willingness to take controversial positions and seek nuances within the realm of normality had disqualified me (in the eyes of liberal analysts) for the national debate: the driving force behind the oligopolistic debate was the compulsion to grow. In Philadelphia, the Federal Reserve considered the economy strong, after a long recovery on solid foundations (it said), suggesting the basic strategy for maintaining or increasing market share. I knew perfectly well that I needed to continue bluffing with irony, spontaneity, and sincerity. My withdrawal represented a victory for me. I was beginning to enjoy being an American adorned with personal memories in a calm and elegant Hades of names and dates that led me to the subsoil of the collective unconscious and then back to the surface. The liberal image of the nation had dissolved (crazy and unreal) in my mind, converting me into the protectionist Barthian dandy par excellence. and because it involved numerous non-economic dimensions in an intricate process of private and public decisions made in the form of successive and unfinished challenges and adjustments. The relationship with China was unbalanced in trade and investment, and the wave of Chinese international acquisitions was alarming. And just as the financial imagination had been capable of creating products that infinitely multiplied wealth, the political imagination should now also be capable of changing the nature of things, inventing new portmanteau words or substituting poetry for the real force of evidence. Figures of poetic thought seeking to form who knows what meaning—it could be a drawing by Pissarro, but it's just a well with a few figures with multinational stripes. The beautiful colors existing and unguessed behind the veil that the "invisible hand" of the world holds before us... THE MODERATING INFLUENCE (!) Deep down, all I know about political positions is that almost all verbose opposition to the system and to republican thought causes in me... a baby's urge!

ResponderExcluirimportant changes were taking place in U.S. military doctrine and practice, largely influenced by the outcome (its defeat) in the Vietnam War (1955–1975); as well as by the growing antiwar movement during the 1960s and 1970s, opposition to the war among the American public in general and among potential army recruits in particular, and even some defiant and rebellious attitudes among American soldiers on the battlefield (Bacevich, 2005; Engelhardt, 2014). This transformation had far-reaching consequences, prompting a shift in military policy from a conscription-based, national army to an increasingly voluntary and professional army.
Thus, the military establishment gradually falls into the hands of spurious private-corporate interests and works in the service not of the nation itself, but of the military-industrial complex within and outside the country. In short, we observe the emergence of armed forces increasingly distant from the people and the national interest, and which are not under any effective democratic control. Such transformations in military policy and practice herald and pave the way for other important changes in the following decades, which we will discuss later in this presentation.
ResponderExcluirRegarding domestic developments in the United States in the second half of the 20th century, one can detect the exponential growth of the "military-industrial complex," whose interests are well served by legislators and officials at all levels of government. This, as President Eisenhower warned in his farewell address in 1961, could pose a major threat to the people, jeopardizing the true national interest. At the same time, intelligence agencies gained prominence (and a much larger share of the national budget!) with the founding of the CIA in 1947, continuing the tasks assigned to the Office of Strategic Services, created in 1942. Now, we have in place two pillars of a shadowy, or "invisible," parallel government, which we will soon see stubbornly pulling the strings and shaping the decision-making process of the legitimate, "visible" government (Engelhardt, 2014).

ResponderExcluirA shadow government, unelected and unaccountable to the people, that will stop at nothing to pursue its hidden agendas, as demonstrated by the conspiracy to get rid of President John F. Kennedy and other public figures and government officials after him, including his brother Robert (Douglass, 2008).

ResponderExcluirThe reason the US sent warships, warplanes, and a nuclear submarine under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking is to control Venezuela's wealth, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro told former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa on RT's "Conversando con Correa" program.
ResponderExcluir"They're looking for many things, but the first thing they're looking for is oil. It's not drug trafficking, it's oil, it's gas. Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world, which are now being increased by new recovery factors that arise with oil technology. It has the fourth largest gas reserve, which is in the entire Caribbean, precisely where these people sent the fleet," Maduro said when asked about American interest after the military operation.
Added to this is "what could be the world's largest gold reserve", as well as "30 million hectares of cultivable agricultural land", abundant water and a strategic geographical position, which serves as a link to Central and North America, as well as the Atlantic Ocean.
ResponderExcluirLast August, international media reported that US President Donald Trump secretly authorized the use of military force against Latin American drug cartels, wrongly accusing Nicolás Maduro of links to the alleged "Cartel de los Soles," and Attorney General Pam Bondi offered a $50 million reward for information leading to his capture.

ResponderExcluirAnalysts told Sputnik Brasil that sending high-ranking military attachés to Beijing is a strategic measure to diversify partnerships with the Global South and reduce dependence on "declining powers" amid global turmoil.
ResponderExcluirBrazil will send two attachés with the rank of general or equivalent to its embassy in Beijing by the end of this year.

ExcluirThe measure is unprecedented in Brazilian diplomatic history, as the only high-ranking military personnel currently deployed are the Brazilian embassy in the US. Therefore, it could represent a significant step forward in Sino-Brazilian diplomatic relations and in relations with the Global South, according to experts interviewed by Sputnik Brasil.
ExcluirSandro Teixeira, a professor at the Army Command and General Staff College (ECEME), states that the change in Brazilian military representation in Beijing reflects two points: the first is the recognition of China's new role in global geopolitics; the second is the Brazilian Armed Forces' interest in diversifying partnerships.

Excluir"In this sense, technical and technological cooperation in the defense area, with emerging countries of the Global South or Geopolitical South, is vital to enable greater freedom in the global geopolitical and strategic scenario, but also to reduce dependence on 'declining powers' that have been attacking Brazil in various ways in the last decade, because they see Brazil as an emerging country — therefore, almost naturally, a potential rival."

ResponderExcluirI've come to the conclusion that what's beginning in America right now is the triumph of a dangerous institutional "hearsay," the exchange of virtual barbs based on the unified creed of advertising. Democratic legacy?? The government as the beginning of the conversion not only of serious politics but of everything serious into "stock speculation" and entertainment to amuse the afflicted masses, relying on the watermelon smiles of celebrities... Western neo-patriotism as the first flowering of the idle thought that is now widespread throughout the world, as incoherent as liberal thought. It's no wonder that the Chinese currently delight in denouncing (with remarkable discretion and delicacy) the stubborn stupidity of their Western contemporaries, their lack of reflection, their lamentable propensity for inconstancy and the zigzagging political paths that Confucianism combats. They know that spirits are freer when tradition succeeds in producing a flawless homogeneity of collective "conducts" and "rites," when great messianic ideologies impose dogmatic doctrines with no room for excessive individual critical examination (.)
I spoke, watching her, knowing that much of it had come to me from my years working for the Chinese government as a spy. Much of what was read about China in the Western world today were my own words and expressions, which I had injected into the giant PC hologram to keep the New York newspapers away from the feverish reality buried in the snow. ------Although there are no safe and regular routes for commercial traffic in the Arctic Ocean (I told Anna), in 2012 the Chinese Development Bank became interested in the pioneering project, as soon as its scientists discovered that the sea level there had risen due to the melting of the polar ice caps. With its eye on the riches of the "North," for fifteen years the Chinese navy has been developing a vast positioning strategy in the Arctic, with Iceland historically being the central hub and, through "glacial-Tibetan" intermediation, a secret partner in a devastating nuclear arsenal (.)
ResponderExcluirSince 50% of China's GDP depends on maritime traffic, China considers the "Northeast" route, along the Russian coast, as well as the Northwest Passage, an alternative to the Suez and Panama Canals (.) The Rotterdam-Shanghai route saves 5,000 kilometers, and Beijing will not give up easy access to the region's natural resources (.) -----, I concluded. Indeed: the circumpolar Arctic region is home to 13% of the world's undiscovered oil resources and 30% of its gas resources, as well as significant mineral wealth.

ResponderExcluirI had seen with my own eyes the Chinese mines in Greenland and their oil platforms in the Icelandic Sea when, between 2010 and 2012, I joined the crew of the Xuelong (The Snow Dragon), China's largest and most powerful icebreaker. Before that, however, some Communist Party officials had tasked me with developing a revolutionary commercial plan to ship 30 percent of China's most valuable exports via the Arctic by 2035. ------ My taste for espionage (I continued) had always been focused on "ornamental" figures and words that I stumbled upon while furtively studying confidential documents; from Africa to America, from China to Russia; compared with the Eternal Red Thread of "Comrade" Ariadne, which life had given me as a reward for my investigative spirit, the secrets of all the world's military powers were nothing more than a mad dance in a labyrinth of fire.

ExcluirChinese stock markets are experiencing a rally to multi-year highs, fueled by record household savings and a surge in leveraged margin trading, with outstanding margin trades reaching a record 2.28 trillion yuan ($320 billion) this September. While the market is performing well, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence and chips, analysts caution that sustainability depends on improving corporate fundamentals and policy support, especially given the backdrop of slowing economic growth and deflationary pressures.

While risks for China's broader financial system have been elevated for months due to deflation in the economy and a persistent property debt crisis, the stock investors' recent actions could add more pressure
